Betway to Sponsor "Fight Night" eSports Event

Internet betting group Betway has announced that they has signed a sponsorship deal that will see it being the title sponsor of the eSports "Fight Night" event, which will feature two of the world's top teams going against each other.

The Astralis and Fnatic eSports teams will face off on February 25th, playing Counter Strike Global Offensive in a Best of Five matchup. The winner of the contest will take home a large €4,000 cash prize. The sponsorship will see Betway mentioned in the title, as well as other marketing opportunities at the event. The deal is the latest for Betway, who is expanding its services in the eSports realm.

Commenting on the deal Betway Marketing Director Anthony Werkman said, "Betway Fight Night pits the best teams of esports against each other and the upcoming event is sure to capture the imagination of esports fans."

"Since Betway launched its dedicated esports portal, we've seen this area of the sportsbook grow exponentially and it regularly features in our daily top 10 sports for turnover. This is another way for us to join gaming fans in supporting the growth of esports."

Esports become in social phenomenon last couple of years and although I'm not too tempted by it so far I can understand why many major companies and not only in the gambling business, want to be involved one way or another in Esports events. I don't think anybody thought ever that it will be so powerful business but it's a fact now.
