Labrokes Reinstates Australian In-Play Betting

This story was published more than 8 years ago.

UK betting firm Ladbrokes has announced that its Australian branch will reinstate its in-play betting service after it withdrew it earlier this year following a criminal investigation by the country's Communications and Media Authority.

Ladbrokes has a "click to call" feature that allows players to bet on in-play sports from their computers, which has been met with scrutiny by Australia's law enforcement agencies, which claim offshore betting firms like Ladbrokes, William Hill, or Bet365 exploit a loophole in the country's betting laws.

The UK company had originally decided to pull the service when the investigation was announced, but the lack of progress in that investigation has given the company the gumption to put the service back in.
