This week the Delaware Superior Court threw out a lawsuit filed against the USA Today newspaper by a prison inmate who sued the paper for ruining his jailhouse betting ring when it decided to stop publishing sportsbetting odds.
Alton Brown sued the paper in 2013, noting that the decision to stop publishing odds ruined his ability to collect wagers from fellow inmates. The case had already been thrown out multiple times, but the inmate, who presumably has nothing better to do kept appealing the case higher up the judicial chain. This week a panel of judges in the Superior Court threw out the case, calling it "utterly frivolous".
While publishing the decision to throw out the case Judge William H. Platt noted that Brown has an 18 year history of filing frivolous lawsuits from jail.
