Dafabet to Sponsor World Snooker Gibraltar Open

This week it was revealed that betting firm Dafabet has agreed to a sponsorship deal with World Snooker, and will be the title sponsor of the Gibraltar Open, which begins this weekend.

The tournament will now be known as the Dafabet Gibraltar Open and will run from December 10th through the 13th and feature big names like Judd Trump, Ding Junhui, and Mark Selbi. No details on the specifics of the deal were released by either organization as of press time.

Commenting on the deal Dafabet Head of Marketing and Sponsorships John Cruces said, "Having worked with World Snooker for a number of years now, we are delighted to be title sponsors for this new tournament as they continue to grow the sport worldwide."

World Snooker Chairman Barry Hearn added: "Dafabet already sponsor the Masters and we're thrilled that they have decided to add to their portfolio of snooker events. This will be the first tournament we have staged in Gibraltar and every time we host an event in a new territory it's another step towards snooker's global expansion."
