Australian Regulator Prosecuting Gambling Firms

This story was published more than 8 years ago.

It has been revealed that Australia's Liquor and Gaming regulator in New South Wales is attempting to prosecute some major gaming firms due to publishing gambling inducements in the country's most populous territory.

The regulator is looking to prosecute Tabcorp, Unibet, CrownBet, and Bet365 for reportedly publishing ads to try to lure players to their sites, noting that the country's regulations now are expanding beyond credits and rewards. The territory is also planning to ban live odds advertising on sporting events effective March 1st, 2016.

Thus far Tabcorp is the only firm to note that they will fight the charges.
