Over the weekend a punter playing the Mega Fortune video slot hit a life-changing win when they struck the game's Mega Jackpot for an astounding €8,577,104. The lucky player named Alexander is from Sweden, and was playing at Nordic betting site Folkeautomaten when he hit the massive jackpot.
The win is the 28th for the game since we began tracking it in 2009.
The Mega Fortune slot is produced by Net Entertainment, and previously held the Guinness World Record for largest progressive jackpot win until the Microgaming Mega Moolah Jackpot surpassed it earlier this year.
UPDATE: The big winner is a 30 year old named Alexander from Sweden, who won the big jackpot on his mobile device though ComeOn Casino's website.
Commenting on his big win Alexander said, "I was totally speechless and couldn't believe what was happening. It was late and my wife had already gone to bed, but I had to wake her up and celebrate. I'm going to lay low to begin with, but I'll make sure my mortgage is paid and treat myself to some exciting holidays. It will probably be difficult to avoid buying a new car!"
Net Entertainment Chief Product Officer Simon Hammon added: "NetEnt's games excite, entertain and reward our players and it's fantastic to break another record with this jackpot won via mobile. Our games have paid out over €13m in jackpots in just over a week - the perfect early Christmas present."
