Italy Betting Amendments Pass Through Parliament

This week Italy's Parliament passed a series of gambling-related amendments, with the changes passing with a 164-116 margin.

The changes will see the government increasing gaming taxes, with AWP taxes being raised 2% and VLT taxes being raised 0.5%. It is thought that the taxes could raise up to €600 million, with an additional €500 million being raised through renewing gaming contracts for the country's 15,000 betting shops, 120 online betting sites, and 210 bingo halls.
