Greek Betting Firm OPAP Proposes New Gaming Tax

Greece's gaming regulator OPAP has announced that it believes imposing a tax on wagers would limit the amount of betting Greek putners do and also raise hundreds of millions of Euros in tax revenue every year.

The regulator proposed putting a 5% tax on wagers, saing that they could generate between €3-400 million per year in tax revenues. The tax would be implemented alongside a tax on wineries and private education.
