Gambling testing and standards firm eCOGRA has announced that it has been granted approval as a certifying organization of gambling technical systems in Portugal following a lengthy review process by the country's gaming regulators.
With the approval the group will now be able to certify that online casino operators in Portugal meet the country's standards when it comes to compliance, security, and fairness. eCOGRA currently has more than 50 employees on its staff and serves as one of the most trusted independent gaming standards firms in the world. The company was founded in 2003 and boasts big-name clients such as Paf, 888, bwin, 32Red, Unibet, Casino Rewards Group, and many others.
Commenting on the approval eCOGRA CEO Andrew Beveridge said, "With eCOGRA now among the major providers of compliance testing and certification services to online gambling organisations operating across multiple regulated jurisdictions in Europe, we are anticipating considerable demand for our services as the Portuguese online gambling market becomes regulated."
eCOGRA Business Development Manager Shaun McCallaghan added: "I have to congratulate our technical staff in particular for meeting the stringent standards set by the Portuguese regulator for the approval of testing agencies - they ensured we met all the requirements and did a superb job."
