Responsible Gaming Foundation Launches National Gambling Helpline

This week the Responsible Gaming Foundation in Malta announced that they have launched a national helpline to help those who experience problem gambling or know those who may be suffering an issue.

Users who wish to seek help can do so via instant message through the RGF's website, which is available here or through telephone, where players can simply dial 1777. Those who call can opt to remain anonymous and the foundation keeps all information confidential.

Commenting on the launch of the helpline the Malta Gaming Authority's COO Heathcliff Farrugia said, "Everyone knows the importance of the gaming industry in Malta, and this is why we should continue to help it grow and be stronger, however this cannot be done without help for those who fall into gambling addiction."

"One of the main reasons for the inception of the Foundation was the introduction of this call centre so as to cater for gambling problems".

Players outside of Malta who wish to seek help can do so via Gamblers Anonymous or GamCare, both of which are outstanding organizations and also provide confidential assistance.
