Today the government of Ireland released its initial list of 27 online gaming operators who have been licensed to conduct gaming operations within their borders.
The Irish online gaming market officially opened up on August 1st, and there have been 27 groups licensed thus far. A partial list of approved groups include:
Any licensed operator can begin offering their services effective August 1st, and unlicensed operators can now face fines of up to €300,000. It is expected that having a licensed industry in Ireland could create €25 million in taxes and frees annually.
