IGT Gets Video Poker Patent

Global betting giant International Game Technology has revealed this week that it has been granted a patent that allows the company exclusive rights for multi-hand video poker games through November 2016.

The announcement was revealed in a company statement, which read, "This pivotal patent is central to many of IGT's industry-leading multi-hand video poker games including All-Star Poker, Ultimate X Poker, Hyper Bonus Poker, Triple Play, Five Play, Ten Play Draw Poker and many other five, ten, 25, 50 and 100 play IGT video poker products."

The patent is registered in the United States with the number 9,105,158, and gives the company rights to offer multi-hand poker functionality in land-based video poker machines.

Commenting on the patent IGT VP of Product Management Jacob Lanning said, "Multi-hand poker remains a pillar of IGT's industry-leading video poker product portfolio."
