Politicians who want to ban online gambling in the United States are trying a new strategy to outlaw the practice by proposing moratoriums on further states legalizing the activity so that Congress can "study" the activity.
News of the proposal was broken by writer Chris Krafcik, who said, that the move is possible given the push that the Restoration of America's Wire Act has seen in Congress from Republicans, who are seeking financial support from gambling magnate Sheldon Adelson, who has donated millions to Republicans in re-election campaigns.
At least ten states are considering legalizing online betting in one way or another, making it harder for federal anti-online gambling politicians to get full ban support from states, who see the activity as providing much needed tax revenue to their coffers.
The tactic would require that Congress "study" online gambling, but no further details have been provided as of yet as to what this study could entail.
