Stoke City FC to Remove Bet365 Logo Temporarily

This story was published more than 9 years ago.

English football club Stoke City has announced that they will temporarily remove the Bet365 logo from their strip while the 2015 Barclays Asia Trophy tournament is ongoing in Singapore.

The move is necessary for the club to comply with Singapore's anti-online gambling laws, which also apply to advertising. Due to the ban on gambling ads, Stoke City will instead wear a strip with the Goal One charity logo, which gives aid to 200 million children.

Stoke City and Bet365 are owned and managed by the Coates family, who hold a cumulative net worth of £2.5 billion.
