Plus500 Shareholders Vote to Approve Playtech Takeover

Internet betting software developer Playtech has had its takeover attempt of spread betting firm Plus500 approved by the latter firm's shareholders, allowing the acquisition deal to progress.

The vote by the company's shareholders will allow the acquisition deal to progress. Playtech themselves will have a meeting later this month to seek approval of their own to acquire Plus500.

Commenting on the matter Playtech CEO Mor Weizer said, "We are delighted to have secured the support of Plus500's shareholders. The combination of TradeFX and Plus500 will enable us to apply our market-leading products and services to the enlarged financial trading business as we continue to execute our growth strategy for the Group."
