Online Poker Numbers Down Again

Internet poker monitor Poker Scot has released their latest update on the industry, noting a 3% decline from the week prior.

The site says that there were 34,736 ring game players active between July 12th and the 19th. When compared to the same period last year, the numbers are down 17% from 41,872. The most popular online poker site remains PokerStars, as they carry 14,732 players on average. Even that number is lower though, as they had 17.7% more players last year.

The other top five sites in the industry are 888Poker (1,998 players), Bodog (1,700 players), Playtech's iPoker Network, and PartyPoker.

Thus far, US poker numbers are dismal, especially in regulated states. The numbers of active players at any given time range from 43 (Borgata in New Jersey) to 90 (World Series of Poker in New Jersey).
