British betting firm GVC Holdings is attempting to try to re-bid for betting firm Bwin.Party Digital Entertainment after the company came to a purchase agreement with 888 Holdings for £898 million.
GVC had originally partnered up with Amaya Inc and put in a bid of £908 million, but was rejected by Bwin for 888, with whom the company has much in common and could likely expand operations to be profitable faster.
888 and Bwin agreed to the deal last week, and both groups are expected to announce the deal this week. GVC is reportedly ditching Amaya and is going alone with a major push with institutional investors.
