Internet betting giant Amaya Gaming is reportedly begun seeking an entry in to the daily fantasy sports sector in the United States, this according to the Legal Sports Report publication.
Amaya is the parent company of poker firm PokerStars, which is also seeking entry into the United States through the New Jersey market. The betting firm is reportedly sending out surveys to American poker players who were active before the Black Friday indictments, asking whether or not they would be interested in playing Daily Fantasy Sports.
Some of the questions included on the survey were:
“Are you aware that Daily Fantasy Sports games are now legal to play for real money in the US?”
“If PokerStars were to offer Daily Fantasy Sports how likely would you be to play on PokerStars or a PokerStars’ backed site?”
The survey also included a variety of sports that players would be interested in participating in. It is thought that Amaya is aiming to have a fantasy betting service in place for the upcoming NFL season, but no other information has been made available to back up those claims.
