UK betting site William Hill has been handed down a sanction by the UK Advertising Standards Authority after the betting group sent out a series of tweets that the ASA ruled appealed to children.
The series of tweets included pictures of children with golf clubs and teddy bears and used childish wording such as "Yippee". The ASA said that the ads appealed to children and need to be removed.
The tweets were a series directed at punters trying to gin up wagers on the Grand National and Masters sporting events.
William Hill seemed contrite in the censure, saying that it agrees that the images were unacceptable and it has since taken steps to ensure that the violations do not happen again.
