Portugal Regulator Posts Requirements for Online Betting

Portugal's gaming regulator Serviço de Regulação e Inspeção de Jogos (SRIJ) has published the necessary rules for the country's burgeoning online betting industry.

Stakeholders in the online betting industry are being given 10 days to comment on the rules and regulations, while also saying that they will be bringing up the full set of technical requirements during the second week in August.

It is thought that the Portuguese government could stand to raise €25 million in tax revenue from legalized online betting this year alone, and it is currently working hard to get a regulated framework up and running this year.

Those interested in reading the regulations can do so here.
