Macau Issues Warning on Internet Gambling

Macau's Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau has posted an alert for punters, noting that there are several illegal betting websites falsely claiming to be certified by the gaming regulator.

The GICB said that all online betting in Macau is considered to be illegal, and that the former Portuguese colony has never sanctioned an online betting license to any firm.

The regulator claimed that any group that claims to be certified through Macau or uses the regulator's information and media will be subject to punishment through Macau's legal system.

No word on the offending sites was provided as part of this story.
