Betsson Leaves Dutch Affiliate Market

This story was published more than 4 years ago.

Internet betting operator Betsson AB has announced that it will be shutting down its Dutch affiliate market for the short term, as it is looking to obtain a gaming license in the country and doesn't want to foul those chances.

The Dutch government is gearing up to legalize and regulate online betting later this year, and it has previously warned offshore operators that they will potentially have their licensing applications rejected should they continue to offer services to punters in the Netherlands.

Because of that Betsson has decided to pull affiliate operations in the country, with the Kroon and Oranje casino brands no longer accepting Dutch players for the time being. Similar moves by 888 and William Hill have also been recently put into place.

Casino Listings will update this story as more developments arise.
