World Series of Poker Colossus Event Surges in Popularity

The World Series of Poker's new Colossus tournament has reportedly had a huge surge in registrations, as more than 14,000 people have registered for the $595 buy in event.

The tournament is set to begin May 29th and 30th in various flights, and there is reportedly more room for additional buy-ins, as the Rio can hold up to 24,200 for poker tournaments. The tournament has a $5 million guaranteed prize pool, which will definitely grow given the popularity of the event.

The World Series of Poker began this week at the Rio resort in Las Vegas, and currently the $565 buy-in Casino Employees No Limit Hold'em event is down to 261 surviving players. The event has a prize pool of $344,000, and drew in 688 players.
