Two years after Legends online sportsbook was shuttered by the United States and its leadership indicted for running an illegal sportsbetting ring in the United States, one of the firm's ringleaders was found guilty in court last week.

Bartice King, 44, was found guilty of conducting an illegal gambling business as well as engaging in conspiracy to commit money laundering, and came after a two week trial. Prosecutors contended that King helped create Legends as a criminal enterprise that took in more than a billion dollars in illegal bets to US residents.

Legends was a Panama based sportsbook that also offered casino games and live dealer games to customers, and was lauded as being a reliable site that paid out quickly to winners. When it was shut down 34 people were arrested, and given sentences ranging from fines to probation.
