Law enforcement in Indonesia has reportedly blocked 360 online gambling sites that target their customers, according to The Jakarta Globe.
The sites reportedly were based in the Philippines, Thailand, and Malaysia, and were reportedly facilitating illegal sports bets to Indonesian punters. The sites were linked to 160 bank accounts in the country, and were processing the gambling transactions. Police are working on tracking the accounts, and will make arrests as identities are uncovered.
Commenting on the closures Brig. General Viktor Simandjuntak said, “We are working together with the Communications Ministry in blocking the sites. We will summon the owners of the bank accounts. If no one comes forward to claim responsibility for the bank accounts, the state will confiscate the funds in the accounts in line with Supreme Court rulings."
