The Dutch gaming regulator Kansspelautoriteit's Director Marja Appelman voiced concerns about the continuing delays regarding the country's regulation of online gambling.
Appelman said that she was concerned that the delays are leaving the country's gamblers are being placed at risk in regards to unlicensed betting sites, which offer no protection and can leave some 90,000 punters open to compulsive gambling.
Appelman said that there are 8.7 million gamblers in the country, a huge number that the country will benefit from being able to tax operators on revenues. It is expected that online gaming regulation will be passed through and put into effect later this year.
