PokerStars Parent Issues Care Pledge to Aid Vanuatu

The owners of poker websites PokerStars and Full Tilt are putting forth a charity drive for residents of the island nation of Vanuatu, who were slammed by Cyclone Pam last week.

The Rational Group will lead a charity drive that will support CARE International, who is providing aid to Vanuatu's residents. The poker giant says they will match $1 for $1 for the total amount of money donated by its staff and players through its website. The match program is good through:

Commenting on the drive Rational Group Head of Corporate Giving Sue Hammett said, “The poker community rallied so strongly when we appealed in 2013 in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan. We hope that you can find it in your heart to donate again. Your contribution really will make a difference to people pushed close to the edge.”

It is good to see that they are helping out. It looked like Vanuatu got slammed pretty good on the news.
