US land casino giant MGM Resorts International has announced that it has struck a deal with GTech to offer mobile sportsbetting in 12 of its Nevada properties.
As a result of the deal, will add in-play betting to the company's sportsbooks, as well as casino gaming on-site. The agreement will ensure that punters are in Nevada using GeoComply geo-location software. The software is necessary, as sportsbetting in the United States is restricted to just a few states, with the federal government keen to stop any activity that crosses state borders.
Commenting on the mobile sportsbetting, GeoComply CEO Anna Sainsbury said, "In-building geo-location has never been done before in this space. We have morphed our technologies used for Nevada poker and New Jersey into an on-property solution which can pinpoint the location of a player within a few feet.”
