Korean Authorities Arrest Gambling Operator

Law enforcement authorities in South Korea have indicted a woman who is thought to have been running an illegal online betting ring that allowed punters to gamble with tablets.

Police in Ulsan arrested a woman they identified as "Yoo", who was allowing her customers to play casino games via tablets, which utilized specific apps. Yoo had masked her activity by registering her business as an internet cafe.

Commenting on the arrest, law enforcement authorities said, “App room owners make ill use of tablet PCs as they are easier to hide than PCs during police searches. As online gambling is rampant nationwide, we will continue the crackdown against illegal app rooms.”
