A Financial Officer at Pembroke College at the University of Cambridge has been sentenced to two and a half years in jail after she plead guilty to stealing from her employer to gamble online.
Jacqueline Balaam was given the hefty prison sentence after she plead guilty to two counts of fraud by abuse and one count of false accounting. She reportedly stole £285,986.18 from her employer and a further £3,198 from the Girton Social Club to bet on internet bingo games.
Balaam reportedly won and lost more than £6 million during her crime spree.
