Sweden Halts Reform on Online Gambling Reform

The Swedish government this week has indicated that it will not reform its online gambling bills until at least mid-year, even though the country is facing a review before the European Court of Justice for lack of compliance with European law.

Swedish Public Administration Minister Ardalan Shekarabi saying that the government is currently focused on budget issues, and that gambling reform will be put on the shelf until more urgent matters are resolved. The Minister also said that his country is concerned with expanding gambling, as it could lead to increased problem gambling.
