Sheldon Adelson's attempt to outlaw online gambling in the United States became a reality when it was introduced to Congress recently, and now a date has been set for the bill's first hearing.
The Restoring America's Wire Act bill is set for a March 5th hearing in front of the House Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security and Investigations. The bill was introduced by Utah Representative Jason Chaffetz, and would reverse a 2011 Department of Justice ruling that opened up the opportunity for legal online betting in the US. An identical bill has been introduced in the US Senate by South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham.
