Rumors in trade publications are claiming that Canadian betting giant Amaya Gaming could be still getting in on the bwin.party digital entertainment acquisition parade after it was reported that original talks had fallen through.
Details on the purported talks have not been made available, but Amaya's name has been reported as a potential suitor for the online betting brand. William Hill plc is also reportedly in the running, as they just ended talks on acquiring 888 Holdings, after a dispute over the company's valuation.
Bwin has been the subject of acquisition talks for some time, as the company is struggling a bit in terms of financials. The company made news recently as their stock fell 25% after talks with a potential buyer reportedly fell through. It was presumed at the time that Amaya, William Hill, and Playtech were the most likely buyers, and now we know that Amaya was the one at the table.
