Internet betting software developer Microgaming has announced that it has launched its poker software technology Babelfish, which is geared toward developers.
Babelfish is a software development package which allows developers to design poker software in different languages and allow access to the Microgaming Poker Network as well as gain access to Microgaming cash games and tournaments. Additional features include the ability to build the software for mobile devices, smart tvs, or even game consoles.
The goal of Babelfish is to allow developers a lower cost solution to developers, allowing discounts on random number generators, hosting, and other aspects of online gaming sites.
Commenting on the product's release Microgaming Head of Poker Alex Scott said, “Babelfish is definitely a game changer for poker. It allows operators to customise their poker software to a higher degree than has ever been possible before, without having to go standalone."
“If you were so inclined, you could even build poker software for a smartwatch, a connected fridge or an in-car entertainment system. The only limit is your imagination."
“With this new operator on board, our network will grow significantly. But this is not the only exciting news that the MPN has for 2015. This year we want to be at the pinnacle of the poker industry - this is just the first step!”
