Sheldon Adelson Lost $8.9 Billion Last Year

Gambling billionaire and anti-online gambling advocate Sheldon Adelson was a huge loser this year when it came to his personal fortune as he lost $8.9 billion in wealth.

The drop in wealth makes Adelson the world's 23rd richest person, down from the 9th position he held last year. Some of the reasons for his hit to income include a struggling Macau gaming market, the fact that his Las Vegas Sands websites were hacked, and a large $47 million settlement with the US Justice Department to make a money laundering charge disappear.

Holding the top spot in the world wealth rankings is Microsoft Billionaire Bill Gates, who gained $9.1 billion in wealth last year. Second place went to Mexico's Carlos Slim, while third place was held by US investment guru Warren Buffet took third place.

I don't feel sorry for him. It is very hypocritical to try to ban online gambling while you are operating your own gambling house. I hope we can find a better way to police online casinos and get rid of the bad apples to make hit harder for people like him to try to ban online gambling under the pretext of protecting Americans.

Lol, Slim!

I tell you my mini violin is playing sad songs for him. He looks like Grumpy cat. I guess money truly doesn't buy everything. Tongue

Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of the things, and no good thing ever dies.
