Internet poker giant PokerStars has announced that they have altered their responsible gaming code to allow punters the chance to opt out of seeing sportsbetting and casino offerings in the software.
The new changes in the code will be able to opt out of casino and sportsbetting marketing opportunities from PokerStars, as well as set stake limits and make the sportsbetting and casino gaming pages invisible to them. The move is a way for PokerStars to promote responsible gaming with their expanded offerings, as well as appease those who don't want to see the betting products mixed in with their poker software.
Commenting on the changes PokerStars Responsible Gaming Manager Jeanne David said, "PokerStars has a long and proud history of integrating responsible gaming features into its software. The casino and sports betting offerings will be no different."
The choice to offer sportsbetting and casino games has proven to be controversial, with sponsored poker pro Victoria Coren-Mitchell resigning last week because she disagrees with the decision.
