Scientific Games/Bally Merger Approved by Nevada

The Nevada Gaming Commission has announced that it has unanimously approved the merger of Scientific Games/Bally Technologies merger, allowing the deal to move forward a day after the deal was approved by Bally shareholders.

As a result of the approval, Scientific Games said that it is expecting to complete the merger process today. The deal was originally announced back in August, and rapidly escalated after the shareholder approval process.

Commenting on the process Scientific Games CEO Gavin Isaacs said, "We are pleased to have received unanimous approval from the Nevada Gaming Commission, and we thank the Commission, the Nevada Gaming Control Board and its staff for their diligence in reviewing the transaction."
