The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has announced that it has awarded a gaming license to the Pala Indian Tribe, allowing the California group the chance to offer online betting in the Garden State.

Pala Interactive is teaming up with the Atlantic City casino Borgata to offer its services, and will offer a completely unique experience for its site. The tribe has been gearing up for legalized online gambling in its home state, but has moved on to New Jersey while those plans continue to develop.

The online casino is being headed up by Jim Ryan, who used to be an executive at online betting firm bwin. Commenting on the upcoming operation he said, "Hopefully we're going to surprise and delight and build some meaningful market share in New Jersey."

It is expected that the site will launch in the second half of November or early December, and will be open exclusively to punters located within New Jersey.
