Malaysia Has Detained 835 People in Gambling Arrests This Year

Police in Perak province of Malaysia have announced that they have arrested 835 people this year in online gambling connected raids.

Datuk A. Paramasivam announced that his agency has conducted 2,847 police raids this year in tied into online gambling, arresting 835 people in the process. In those raids 7,069 computers have been seizes, and 71 different spots have had their electricity severed. Those numbers are set to eclipse last year's entire total, which saw 2,997 raids conducted with 442 people arrested and 5,180 computers being seized.

The Police Chief went on to say that the biggest operation of the year was on October 27th when it raided 197 different spots, taking 27 people into custody.
