Indonesian Police Bumble in Gambling Raid

This story was published more than 9 years ago.

Police in Indonesia were left with a red face and no suspects when they decided to raid a business on suspicion on illegal gambling without a warrant.

Undercover police from the Yogyakarta station raided the site owned by Gameloft without a warrant and were violently repelled by security guards, who had no idea that the officers were police. The undercover officers then left, and were later replaced by clothed officers.

The ordeal was not over yet though, as police discovered that Gameloft's office was not a gambling den, but was instead a video game developer. All people inside the office were then let go and police were left with an embarrassing incident.
