Internet betting firm Betfair has announced its second quarter financial results, noting that revenues have risen 22% when compared to the same period next year.
For the quarter revenues rose to £119 million, which resulted from favorable sportsbetting results. Additionally, the group noted that its active customers grew by 30% which followed a strong performance from the World Cup earlier this year.
Commenting on the results Betfair CEO Breon Corcoran said, "Encouragingly, the recent growth in customer activity has continued with the active customer base up 30% in Q2. These trends, combined with favourable sporting results, have led to another strong quarter and underpin our confidence in delivering our expectations for the year."
