Several large online betting firms have announced that they have begun leaving the Singapore betting market after it was announced that the country will adopt harsh penalties for betting firms operating in-country.

The pullouts include several large betting firms such as IBC Bet, Bet365, 888, and SBO Bet. These firms are pulling out to avoid possible jail time for those helping offer online betting in the country as well as a fine ranging from S$20,000 to S$500,000.

Other betting firms such as PokerStars and William Hill are reportedly planning to stop offering betting services once the laws are implemented.
