Microgaming Reveals Game of Thrones Slot Machine

Internet betting software developer Microgaming has announced that it is developing a new video slot based on the hit television series Game of Thrones.

Game of Thrones is a 5 reel slot that either offers 15 paylines or 243 Ways to Win as the game's pay tables. The game will feature video footage from the show as well as Wild Symbols, Scatter Symbols, Win Multipliers, and Free Spins.

Game of Thrones is due to be released in December, and will be made available at casinos offering Microgaming's betting library.

Microgaming has posted a video preview of the game, which can be viewed below:

I bet this will be one of the most popular video slots for the foreseeable future.

I'm with belaff. I for one am disappointed already. Judging by that video they have phoned it in, and obviously have not ben able to negotiate the rights to use the likeness of any of the characters in the show. Instead of just using the boring house banners it would have been far better to get an artist to do some original artwork for the characters or places in the series. Where is the treachery and the backstabbing? What about a red wedding bonus round? Just about the only good thing I can see is they let you choose between 243 ways and 15 lines. It looks like a gigantic missed opportunity to me.

Not saying its great, but don't you think that brand recognition will carry this title a bit? God knows there are many things out there that are popular but necessarily appealing (cough, cough, Kardashians).

Possibly, but if the general reaction is like mine I can see its popularity fading pretty quickly. I suppose if it pays out some big wins people won't mind the lack of imagination!

Took dark knight sequel as example, brand is awesome, game is bad = game absolutely not popular.
