750,000 Visitors Take in Macau During Golden Week

More than 750,000 Chinese nationals traveled to Macau for the Chinese holiday Golden Week, potentially providing a big boost to the economy which has stalled over the past few months.

The number of visitors is 17% higher than the same period last year, and is much higher than Hong Kong's number of visitors, which is up only 5.4% over the same time in 2013.

The amount of visitors is good news for the former Portuguese colony, which has seen fewer visitors over the past few months due to economic issues and anti-corruption crackdowns.

Casino Listings will report on Macau's October financial numbers early next month, revealing whether or not the increased visitors will raise the bottom line.
