Hong Kong Will Not Block Online Gambling Sites

This story was published more than 9 years ago.

The government of Hong Kong reportedly will not be blocking citizen access to online betting sites, saying that it respects the rights of its residents' freedom to information.

The stance being taken by Hong Kong Home Affairs Bureau is one that is contrary to the viewpoints of other government bureaus in the region. Recently the government of Singapore announced its decision to block its citizen's access to illegal betting sites.

Instead of issuing blacklists, the Bureau will instead rely on regulation and enforcement of existing betting laws.

Casino Listings will update this story as more developments arise.
