Russia Signs off on Crimean Gambling

This story was published more than 9 years ago.

The President of Russia has reportedly signed a decree that makes land gambling legal in the Crimean Peninsula, months after it annexed the zone from the Ukraine.

As a result of the decree, Crimea and Kuban now join four other regions of Russia in offering legal gambling. There is one current casino in Crimea, but three more are being built in the Primorye, Altai, and Kaliningrad regions.

Now that gambling has been legalized in the Crimean Peninsula, authorities will work on developing the industry, which could include resorts by the peninsula's subtropical region.

Casino Listings will update this story as more developments arise.
