Politicians in the Netherlands are working to regulate online gambling in the country, but the industry may not be set for liberalization until 2015, this according to various media reports.
The current Remote Gambling Bill is currently awaiting final approval, but it appears that the Netherlands' Labor Party could pull support if they do not get equal tax rates for online and land based casinos. It is speculated that the bill may not be transformed to law until spring of 2014.
The current bill specifies that online betting firms would have to pay a 20% GGR, which is already being criticized as being too high.
