€5,618,897 Mega Fortune Mega Jackpot Hit

About three hours ago a punter hit a life changing jackpot at Unibet Casino when they scored a massive €5,618,897 jackpot while playing Net Entertainment's Mega Fortune Mega Jackpot.

Unibet has revealed that the winner was a lucky woman from Sweden. It is the fourth largest win that we have recorded for this slot.

Mega Fortune has a reputation for awarding huge jackpots to punters, and it currently holds the record for largest online jackpot win ever, as it doled out a huge €17,860,868 jackpot last January.

Net Entertainment has recently announced the release of a newer Mega Fortune slot called Mega Fortune Dreams which is expected to replace the older Mega Fortune jackpot. Indeed we have seen several operators over the weekend releasing the new game with the older version being removed from their catalogues.

It was won at Unibet, you can see it in Unibet's Hall of Fame.

Also their rep claimed it and there was a press release.

It seems that the jackpot tracking algorithm always credits the win at NetEnt global progressives to MrGreen, same happened with the Hall of Gods jackpot won in just over month ago, first you had MrGreen as the casino where it was won but it was Betsson.

You are absolutely correct and I have updated the story above to reflect the details. Thanks for the tip - we'll have to look into the code that determines the wins and see if there is a bug causing it to assign the wins to Mr Green by default.

Also we just added the new Mega Fortune Dreams jackpots to our tracker so we'll hopefully have a page up for them in the next day or so, as soon as we can work out which casinos have it and which of the three tiers are pooled or private. I think the Mega and Major are pooled this time and the Rapid is private to each casino but I will need to confirm this.

I think the bonus game where the Mega Fortune, Mega Fortune Dreams, and Hall of Gods Mega Jackpots are won runs on NetEnt's own servers, not on casino's hardware. So the casino where the jackpot resets fastest to the current seed value is not necessarily the casino where the jackpot was won, but it is the most responsive, with the lowest lag to the NetEnt servers.

From my experience, the NetEnt games at MrGreen are one of the least lagging and smoothest running NetEnt games I've played at casinos, this smoothness could explain how MrGreen was the first casino to have the jackpot reset to current seed value both this time and with Hall of Gods in May.

So it might be impossible to tell the casino where a NetEnt global jackpot was won with any algorithm..

No worries I've looked into it and we don't actually work it out by algorithm unless we know that the jackpot is only available at one casino (like the old Major and Rapid level jackpots).

I'm afraid this one was down to human error by our person updating the info in the database. Mr Green was where we were sourcing the jackpot values from, and they mistook that for meaning that the jackpot was local to Mr Green, instead of pooled across many casinos. I've had them whipped and 3 fingers fed to our lions which will make updating the wins in future a little more difficult but should be a good reminder to make sure the information is correct!
