Today the World Series of Poker set an attendance record for a tournament that was not the Main Event, when the $1,500 Millionaire Maker drew in 7,977 players.

As a result of the large participation, the prize pool will exceed $10,768,950, with the winner raking in more than $1.3 million. The tournament is a No Limit Hold'em event, and will see 819 of the players finishing in the money.

The participation is the highest number that the World Series of Poker has seen since the 2006 Main Event.

The event is still ongoing as of press time.
