A study conducted in the state of New Jersey showed that the people betting online in the Garden State are gambling regularly, presenting an opportunity for land operators.
The study was set up by Commercial Intelligence and revealed that those 44% of New Jersey residents who gamble online do so every month, with 12% of all punters betting each week.
The poll surveyed 506 New Jersey residents and was conducted earlier this year.
This means that land casinos are effectively boosting their bottom line by offering online services to players. GiGse Consumer Insights Group Chairman Geoffrey Dixon agrees, noting: “If land based operators do not have an online offer they may reduce revenue generation opportunities with their customers. Worse of course is that they could lose those customers to other operators who have a combined offline and online offer with a combined incentives and rewards package”.
